Education COST is 2 billion more then the general account in Alabama. 6 BILLION dollars in education.
Does that sound a little ridiculous?
The jails are packed and over filled, our unemployment is higher then its ever been, our dept for this state and nation is increasing daily...
and our reps.
wants to take money out of the savings account to fixed the roads... 2 million I think?
The money that's for generations down the road.
Now noooo don't take it from the education fund, because WE need that so we can take the responsibility of the parents to raise their own children.
Its not the governments job.
Government is so screwed.
And YES we are educating these kids, our tax money. Anywhere from a candy bar at the store to the first of the year state tax.
Unconstitutional.

Maybe those high unemployment rates and prison rates are the reason we need to spend MORE money on education. Maybe part of the reason these kids aren't succeeding is due to the high student: teacher ratio or lack of quality materials. Spending less on education would only make this worse.
